Summary of IPA’s 15 November Symposium

Greetings –

Your association wants to thank all of you for your support of our first event in Washington on November 15th.  Our hosts – Booz Allen Hamilton – graciously provided a facility which allowed us to eat, drink, and listen intently to a diverse group of speakers each of whom brought a particular perspective to our common understanding of Cognitive Security.  Thank you again to our speakers:  Dr Rand Waltzman, Dr. Christopher Paul, Dr. Aaron Lobel, LTG Michael Nagata, Ms. Dana Priest, and Mr. Swami Iyer.
We had a full house and the only common complaint was the lack of time to discuss in detail the issues described by our speakers.  We will rectify this in our next event when we hope to ‘drill down’ into one or two of the issues recommended by attendees and members.  We have been fortunate to receive excellent feedback from many of you regarding the recent event and our potential areas of focus.  Keep it coming!  Your ideas will continue to shape our way ahead.  We have also received excellent ideas for future research and potential papers.
We seek your input to our blog found on our organization website.  Please send recommended submissions and please do comment.  It is a moderated but very diverse effort.  We will be investing in our website as well.  You may also find your association on LinkedIn thanks to the efforts of a member at https://www.linkedin.com/company/11371221/ and on Twitter at @InfoProAssn.
To those that have not yet become members but attended our last event, we hope we gave you a ‘taste’ of things to come and the issues we wish to tackle through research, education, and outreach.  The next year is a critical one as we ramp up our efforts and hope you will all come along for the ride by renewing, joining, and participating.
Respectfully,
Michael Williams
