IPA Virtual Writing Lab Community of Interest Kicks Off

The Strategic Resilience Group LLC and IPA kicked off the IPA Virtual Writing Lab Community of Interest on July 23, 2025. The virtual writing lab is intended to provide online writing support, camaraderie, and resources to Information Professionals interested in independent research, writing, publication, and business development often extending the services offered by traditional, on-campus writing centers.

The Lab will be hosted biweekly, on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 – 11:00 PM Eastern Time via MS Teams by
associates of Strategic Resilience Group or IPA Volunteers to provide a venue of providing mutual support, peer
accountability, mentorship, and to identify publication opportunities.

Attendees included eight researchers, writers, and business developers with interests in cognitive security, decision making, irregular warfare, and resiliency from locations ranging for New York City, Northern Virginia, North Carolina Sandhills, and the beaches of Florida.

Additional writing programs were identified by Writing Lab participants, including the LTG(Ret) James Dubik Writing Fellows Program, and the USATRADOC Mad Scientist Blog. We also challenge each participant to prepare an 800-word response to the Irregular Warfare Initiative’s writing contest concerning “Strengthening Regional Partnerships through Unconventional Means” with a suspense of 1 August 2025.

Future programs will include project presentations by writing lab participants, while Mr. Rich Hilberer, Dr. Rachel Cole, and Ms. Gabrielle Sulak research peer reviewed journal publication requirements.

The next Virtual Writing Lab is scheduled for Wednesday, August 13 at 8:00 pm EDT. Invitations will be sent from Mr. Scott Weaver via SRG MS Teams. Anyone that it interested in participating may contact at scott.weaver@srgadaptive.com or via the SRG/IPA Professional Writing Group at https://irregularwarfare.org/articles/irregular-warfare-indo-pacific-writing-contest-2025/.
