The Board of the Information Professionals Association (IPA) is pleased to announce that Mr. Chip Bircher has been named the Executive Director for IPA. In that role, Chip will oversee day-to-day business operations of IPA and directly support the President and the Board of Trustees in setting and guiding the strategic direction for IPA.
In making the announcement, IPA President Kevin Gates said, “Chip is a critical addition to the leadership team for IPA, and his experience in industry and in the military will help us, as a fledgling non-profit association, create sustainable processes and initiatives that will enable us to do more for our members. In advance of other leadership changes we have in store, like the transition to a new President, Chip is going to bring new ideas and fresh blood, but also a steady and experienced hand, to IPA for years to come.”
Chip is the co-founder and CEO of SCL Consulting LLC, using his experience and expertise in information operations, cognitive security, strategic communication, and financial services technology and operations to help private and public entities build successful teams, transform operations, and drive strategic growth. Previously, he led the Datos Insights advisory and consulting practice for life insurance carriers and insurance technology solution and service providers, and was the Chief Operating Officer for the Advanced Markets Network business unit and Head of Compliance and Controls for the Institutional Life business unit at New York Life. Chip served 28 years in the U.S. Army, where he led the Army’s Information Operations Career Field, requirements determination, and solution delivery for strategic communications and information warfare.
