Strategic Resilience Group LLC (SRG) is excited to announce its sponsorship of a
virtual academic writing lab as a Community of Interest (COI) within the Information
Professionals Association (IPA). The purpose of this writing lab is to provide writing
support, camaraderie, accountability, and resources to security professionals interested
in independent research, writing, publication, and business development associated
with cognitive security, irregular warfare, innovation, and resilience in conjunction with
homeland defense and national security interests.
The writing lab will be hosted biweekly, on alternating Wednesdays, from 8:00 PM to
11:00 PM Eastern Time. Each session will include a guest speaker that will be invited to
describe their experiences as a researcher, author or business developer, and answer
questions selected from the participants. The agenda will also include a review of future
writing opportunities, fellowships, and professional events capstone by a 2 ½ hour
period dedicated to individual work allowing for personal engagement via the MS Teams
chat window.
The network development and administration of this COI will be through a LinkedIn
Group established by SRG to manage membership and provide a platform for
collaboration and information sharing outside of the formal writing lab window.
Participation is open to anyone of at least 18 years of age, with a LinkedIn profile, and
an interest in global security. Access to the LinkedIn group and bi-weekly writing lab will
be controlled by SRG representatives and ask all participants to adhere to this simple
Code of Conduct.
1. SRG and IPA hosts withhold the right to restrict access to the virtual writing lab
and associated LinkedIn group for any reason.
2. All MS Teams chat and LinkedIn communications will be professional and
appropriate to the academic nature of the virtual writing lab.
3. Researchers and writers are responsible for the security of their own works and
shall properly reference or credit the works of others in their writing or during
discourse.
4. The hosts request authors recognize the IPA’s and SRG’s support to their
research efforts in their final products.
We will be kicking off the first virtual writing lab of Wednesday, 23 July. To participate in
this program we ask you to request to join the LinkedIn group titled, “ SRG/ IPA
Professional Writing Group” found at the following URL
https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13318081/, and complete a short survey to secure
your name, email and interests for future coordination.
