Executive Director: Michael Williams, LTC, USA (ret)
Michael is a retired Army Information Operations officer, consultant, and investor. He entered the U.S. Army Chemical Corps in late 1985 and transitioned to Military Intelligence a few years later. He became an IO Officer in 1999 after seeing the important of IO during a tour in the Balkans. He was an IO Team Leader in Afghanistan in 2002 and later led the training and deployment of teams to Iraq, Afghanistan and Haiti. He finished his military service as a Division Chief within the Joint Staff J-39. After retiring he became an advisor, and consultant to OUSD(I) and later OUSD(Policy) working on strategic communication and Information operations policy, programs and budgeting for the department, services and combatant commands. Since leaving his full-time Pentagon advisory role in 2015, Michael and his spouse started a real estate firm in the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY. He continues to act as a consultant and writer on IO issues from his home in Skaneateles, NY. He has one adult son and somehow finds time to ski the slopes, sail a Flying Scot, and fly his Cessna 172.
